After two years of restrictions due to COVID, the Kings from the Orient will visit Mallorca on the 5th of January in the afternoon, before beginning their traditional gift-giving.
They will travel around the centre of Palma and other towns and villages on the island in their floats, accompanied by parades, live music and sweets for the children.
A tribute to the toys of present times and times gone by
Toys will be the main attractions of the 2023 Three Kings Parade in Palma.
The Town Hall has already confirmed that there will be 13 different floats, which will all represent different types of toys, both old and new, and will include dancers, singers, actors, acrobats, fire eaters, clowns, drummers, and skaters.
Several of these imaginative floats have been designed by pupils from the Maria Antònia Salvà, Miquel Porcel and Alexandre Rosselló public schools.
There will also be a float entitled "In Orbit", featuring toys from the 70s and 80s and paying tribute to the singer David Bowie; another called "Toy Ride", with live music and a Barbie version of Penelope Pitstop; another with the motto "Imagine and create your own toy"; and another dedicated to the world of Alice in Wonderland.
When do the Three Kings arrive in Mallorca? Welcome and itinerary
Unless prevented by bad weather, the Royal Pages are scheduled to arrive in Palma de Mallorca on the 3rd of January at 12:00 noon.
They will set up their Royal Mailbox in the Plaza de Cort for children to leave their letters there.
The arrival of the Three Kings will be on the 5th, at 6:00 pm, in the Moll Vell.
After greeting the people there briefly, they'll begin their procession through the city. They’ll be escorted by the local Police and the Tambores de la Sala (local drummers).
The route for the 2023 Three Kings Parade in Palma will be along Avenida Antoni Maura, Paseo del Borne, Plaza Juan Carlos I, Calle Unión, Ramblas, Calle Baró de Pinopar, Vía Alemania and Vía Roma.
The return journey will be along the Bisbe Campins and Rubén Darío streets, and the Paseo Mallorca, Paseo Jaume III and Paseo del Borne until it reaches the Casal Solleric, where it will end.
Once there, the Three Wise Men will greet the children from the balcony.
This year, it's estimated that the Oriental Kings will hand out 2,000 kilos of sweets in Palma, a sweet appetizer before a magical night full of gifts and surprises.
