This is one of Mallorca’s most eye-catching mountains, and although a hiking route that requires greater physical fitness, does not present too many difficulties. The route starts from Sierra de Tramuntana and continues uphill, passing by a rocky wall until reaching a plateau where you’ll be able to revel in spectacular views of the entire island of Mallorca, especially towards Puig Major, the Cúber reservoir and Alcudia bay.
Even on clear days you can see the entire Balearic archipelago, including the outline of Menorca. This route’s ascent starts from Coll de Sa Batalla or at the Iluc Sanctuary and you can ascend by Comafreda or Font de S’Avenc. At the summit there’s a natural well some 20 metres in depth.
Both the start and the return journey are a veritable adventure, with a length of 11 km and a duration of approximately seven hours. It is designed for experienced walkers and it’s recommended that you wear safe, anti-slip footwear.
