A magical island that dazzles us with its natural landscapes, charming villages and endless activities – that’s Mallorca! If you’re planning to visit this Balearic island in the summer, then keep reading, as today Hotels VIVA is going to show you how to really enjoy Mallorca this summer!
In this Mediterranean paradise, you’ll find coves and beaches to suit all tastes. During the summer, one of the best things to do in Mallorca is to relax on the shores of the Mediterranean waters, enjoying the scenery and peacefulness.
If you want to discover unspoilt and completely stunning natural landscapes, here are some coves that you simply mustn’t miss:
If you want to get a bit adventurous on your next trip to Mallorca, then doing water sports is one of your best options. With these activities, you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the island whilst keeping fit and having fun.
One of the most popular water activities to discover the extensive Mallorcan marine life is snorkelling or scuba diving. Another activity to enjoy Mallorca is to rent a kayak and explore the coasts of the different coves as well as some amazing natural caves. If you want to learn something new, then you can take surfing, kitesurfing or paddleboarding lessons on many of the island's beaches.
What to do in Mallorca if you have a car? Without a doubt, driving through the Serra de Tramuntana and discovering its marvellous landscapes and picturesque villages is an incredible option. The Serra de Tramuntana is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and you’ll find charming villages, viewpoints, natural parks, and historic buildings.
One of the most outstanding villages in this area is Alcúdia, where you can visit the ruins of the Roman city of Pol-lèntia. It’s one of the most beautiful villages in Spain and is steeped in history. Another unmissable stop is Valldemossa, which is also considered one of the most beautiful villages in the Serra de Tramuntana. This village was home to the composer Frédéric Chopin. You can also visit the Royal Carthusian Monastery of Valldemossa, a 15th-century palace and former residence of King Sancho I of Mallorca.
Deià is another village not to be missed, and it’s very close to Fornalutx and Sóller, other places that are also well worth visiting. In Deià you’ll be able to feel the most bohemian vibes on the whole island, and you’ll get a chance to learn about the many artists and writers who have passed through this village, such as Julio Cortázar and Robert Graves, who has his own museum there.
If you’re coming to Mallorca looking to unwind and relax, then a hotel with a spa is just what you need! Apart from the beaches and villages in Mallorca, there’s also a wide range of hotels with spas and wellness clubs for you to enjoy the rest you deserve.

With more than 70 local wineries, Mallorca has become a popular destination for wine tourism, both from home and abroad. Throughout the island, you’ll find a lot of wine culture, which you can experience firsthand in restaurants, in the wineries themselves, or in the village markets.
What to do in Mallorca if you’re a wine lover? We would definitely recommend that you visit one of the wineries and try the different varieties produced on the island. Thanks to Mallorca's winemaking tradition, the island currently has two varieties of wine with designation of origin: DO Binissalem and DO Pla i Llevant.
The Coves del Drach (Caves of Drach) are located on the east of the island, in the town of Manacor, and are one of the island’s most popular attractions. If you visit our island, then it’s an unmissable activity to truly enjoy Mallorca.
The Coves del Drach is a set of 4 natural caves which reach a height of up to 25 metres, creating a spectacular landscape. They’re approximately 2.4 kilometres long, but the actual route is 1,200 metres long and lasts approximately 1 hour.
During the tour, you’ll pass through different "rooms" and you can even see Lago Martel, which, at 30 metres wide and 115 metres long, is one of the largest underground lakes in the world. This attraction is open all year round and you can buy tickets on their website.
