El día de las Islas Baleares

¡Estamos de fiesta! Aquí en Baleares hoy celebramos el Día de las Islas Baleares.

Es fiesta en todas las islas, ya que conmemoramos la fecha en la que se publicó en el BOE el Estatuto de Autonomía de 1983.

Y el ambiente en Mallorca y Menorca tiene toques festivos. Las calles se llenan de colores, la gente sale a disfrutar y se realizan una serie de actividades para toda la familia. Muchas de las tradiciones, comida típica, bailes y más se instalan en las principales plazas de las ciudades y pueblos de las islas para conectar a residentes y turistas con la historia y raíces de nuestro maravilloso archipiélago.

En Mallorca parte de las actividades de estos días han sido conciertos (en la iglesia de Sant Creu o el de Joan Martorell), jornadas de puertas abiertas en Es Baluard, Museu de Mallorca y Caixa Forum, conferencias, exposiciones, actuaciones callejeras y actuaciones teatrales. Además, hoy culmina uno de los actos culturales más populares entre mallorquines: el Mercat d’oficis artesans.

The Balearic Islands Day

We’re celebrating! Here on the Balearic Islands today we celebrate the Day of the Balearic Islands.

It’s a holiday on every island, because it conmemorates the date in wich the Statute of Autonomy of 1983 was published in the BOE.

And Mallorca and Menorca get all festive. The streets are filled with colors, people celebrate on the streets and there are many activities for the whole family. Many of the traditions, typical food, dance and more take over the cities and towns to connect residents and tourists with our story and roots.

In Mallorca, as part of these festivties, there have been many concerts taking place (in Sant Creu church or the concert of Joan Martorell), open door day at Es Baluard, Museu Mallorca and Caixa Forum, conferences, exhibitions and theatre. Today one of the most popular cultural events is also ending: the ‘craftsmen market’.
