Where can I surf in Mallorca?

There are three places on the island where you can find most of the best spots for surfing in Mallorca: Bahía de Alcúdia (Alcúdia Bay), the Levante coast and the Bahía de Palma de Mallorca (Palma de Mallorca Bay). This is where you’ll find the best swell, formed by wind or storms out at sea.

The best surf schools in Mallorca

Although you’ll get the biggest waves from September to May, surfing in Mallorca can be practised all year round in the surf schools that you’ll find at different beaches and coves. There are classes for beginners and also for those at an intermediate level, and so everyone will be able to enjoy this amazing sport.

In the beginners' classes, you’ll learn all the basics of surfing. The aim of these classes will be to enable you to position yourself correctly on the board, know how to approach the waves correctly, paddle, and also be able to get on the board while in the water.

El Niño Surf Center: Here you have a surf shop, school and rental centre for surfing in Mallorca as well as for stand up paddle, kayak, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. It’s located in Can Pastilla and offers surf courses for couples, groups and private lessons.

La Mosca Club de Surf: A great place for paddleboarding, kitesurfing and surfing lessons in Mallorca. This school is located in Cala Gamba and offers private or group courses, which include all the necessary equipment, as well as photos and videos.

Water Sports Mallorca: This school is located in Playa de Muro and there you’ll be able to practice surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, windfoiling, paddleboarding and catamaran sailing. It offers beginners and advanced classes for adults, children from 3 years old, as well as private lessons.
