If you’re an adrenaline and speed junkie, then you shouldn’t miss out on hiring a jet ski in Mallorca this summer. There are so many different trips and excursions that put safety first and give you a great time riding these jet skis around Mallorca and its surroundings.

At Hotels VIVA, we recommend hiring a jet ski in Mallorca or even booking a jet ski tour to enable you to discover every nook and cranny of our beautiful island. Read on to find out where and how you can hire these services and have a great time enjoying this fun sport in the waters of the Mediterranean.

Jet ski hire and jet ski trips on Mallorca

There’s nothing better than the freedom to move around the island's large expanses of water on jet skis in Mallorca. Being able to go from cove to cove or ride with a companion at full speed over the water is, undoubtedly, enormous fun!

One of the companies that offers these services is ihoppers, which offers 30-minute trips and tours in the Bay of Alcudia, in the north of the island. They can also pick you up free of charge from Alcudia, Muro beach, or Can Picafort. The whole package costs €100, with the option of adding a photo book of you on jet skis in Mallorca for an additional charge. In that way, you’ll have some great photos to upload onto Instagram.

Another company you can hire a jet ski or jet ski tour from is Sea Sports Mallorca. When you rent a jet ski from them, you can choose between a half day (4 hours) or a full day (8 hours). The price for renting a jet ski, which can take a maximum of two people, is 250€ for 4 hours and 395€ for 8 hours, including safety equipment.

With this company, you can also book a jet ski tour around Mallorca for 135€. They have 2 options: a trip to the Caves of Artá or to Cala Morlanda. On the first trip, you get access to a place you can only get to by hiring jet skis: the beautiful Cap Vermell and the Artá Caves, where you can enjoy swimming in its beautiful waters. On the Cala Morlanda tour, you’ll jet ski over the waters of Cala Millor beach until you reach an old quarry in Sa Coma. You’ll then visit several beaches until you finally reach Cala Morlanda and an unspoilt cove called Cala d'en Rafalino.

Another worthwhile excursion is to hire a jet ski in the Port of Portixol for an hour, and see the beautiful city of Palma de Mallorca from the water. The hire and drop off point is at the port itself, where tourists are taught how to ride the jet ski if it’s their first time. This is a truly unique experience to see the landscape of Mallorca from another perspective. The price per person for this tour, which lasts an hour on a jet ski, is 170€ including the guide.

Safe jet ski hire in Mallorca

Before you start planning your spectacular jet ski excursions around Mallorca, it’s important to consider the safety recommendations and limitations of these vehicles, especially if you’re travelling with your family.

The minimum age to rent a jet ski is 16 years old, and, if the child is under 18, their parents will have to either sign a consent form or be present at all times while they’re using the jet skis. The minimum age for jet ski passengers, in most of the companies that offer jet ski rentals and excursions, is between 4 and 6 years old. Child passengers on jet skis in Mallorca must always be accompanied by their parents or responsible adults during the whole journey or the duration of the hired trips.

Some companies charge insurance on safety equipment or jet skis, which you can pay for by cash or credit card. This will be reimbursed once the equipment is safely returned in good condition. Even though they’re an exception, some companies do charge for the fuel used throughout the jet ski rental or excursion, but you’re not likely to run out of fuel during the experience.

This is, without a doubt, one of the best ways to have fun in Mallorca with friends or family, and to get to know the island from a completely different perspective. Why don’t you enjoy the Mediterranean from the water by hiring a jet ski on your next holiday in Mallorca?
