Alcúdia beach has beautiful, fine, white sand and is an impressive 3.5 kilometres long. This makes it perfect for relaxing and means that children have plenty of space to play in. It also boasts the coveted blue flag.
It’s one of the best beaches in Mallorca for children, as it has a play area with swings and exercise equipment, which will nicely finish off your day at the beach. Also, if you prefer activities with a bit more adrenaline, you can rent kayaks and pedal boats on the beach.
This beach is within easy reach of many of our VIVA hotels and, as it’s so close to the town, there are plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops. Parking near the beach is a little difficult, but there’s easy access.
Just 7 minutes by car from the beach of Alcúdia is the beach of Muro, one of the best beaches in Mallorca to go to with children. It’s the longest beach on the island, approximately 6 kilometres long, and so it’s very easy to find a spot there.
With its fine, clean sand, children can explore freely on this beach, as the waters are shallow and they can walk a long way out before it covers them. Another of the advantages of Muro beach, which makes it one of the best beaches in Mallorca, is the large area covered with pine trees, which offer shade during the day to protect you from the sun.
Nearby there are several restaurants, a playground and a rental service for water sports such as surfing, paddleboarding and others. On Sundays it tends to be very crowded, but the area is easily accessible and parking is easy.
You’ll find this beach of sand, rocks and very calm waters near the urbanisation of Canyamel. It’s some 290 metres long and is a family beach with the coveted blue flag.
The landscape around the beach of Canyamel is truly beautiful. On a practical side, you’ll find showers, lockers, toilets, bars and restaurants on the beachfront, along with sun loungers, parasols, and water sports equipment hire. If you’d like to explore a couple of island villages at the end of the day, Canyamel beach is only 10 kilometres from Artà and Capdepera.
Located in Andratx, on the other side of the island, this beach has a family atmosphere and very calm waters. It’s 150 metres long and 80 metres wide, and is named after the urbanisation of the same name that you can find nearby.
Playa Camp de Mar stands out for its unique landscape, with an islet just in front of it that you can access via a lovely walkway. On this islet you’ll find a restaurant and some really impressive views of the coast. Due to its tranquility, it’s one of the best beaches in Mallorca for families, and you can also rent sun loungers and parasols there.
Although it isn’t located in the island’s capital, Palmanova beach is considered one of the best beaches in Palma de Mallorca, just 18 minutes by car from the city. This beach is located in Calvià and there are 1,000 metres of it to enjoy.
On Palmanova beach, you’ll find a shaded area, a reasonably-priced beach bar, a beach club, and a children's playground. You can rent water sports equipment, and there are a few supermarkets close by too. It’s a very touristy beach, so it’s best to visit it in the afternoon and at sunset.
¡VIVA the summer!
